The W.O.W Foundation roots itself as being being a catalyst of change and the promotion of a new face of womanhood.

We like to give wings of worth to women who believe they need to make a difference by working on projects that can create entrepreneurs in the society.

Our aim, mission and hope is to:

empower, inspire, motivate, protect & guide

  • Promote and encourage women within the community to be self-reliant, rational and make independant decisions.

  • Create awareness within the community through mentoring and coaching programs for women who have experienced domestic violence, substance abuse, grief or other significant life events.

  • Provide encouragement for women to become entrepreneurs and to assist them from welfare onto work.

Helen I Do Not Know You, But I Am Sorry

I was sitting, slurping on my watermelon Sippy drink thing with its added mint and spinach. It was horrible. Next to me were two women one with long, dark, curly hair (let’s call her Sue). The other woman had a short, mustard, scraggy bob (let’s call her Ann). Both...

every woman is worthy no matter her past or situation

We work with women, from the age of 16 onwards, who are vulnerable, through homelessness, family dynamics, domestic abuse or those who need assistance to make some positive lifestyle changes to assist them in gaining a healthy, productive life for themselves and their family.

What we do is simple. We empower women to get their lives back & discover their self worth.

every woman is worthy of the best life she can live

I was retrenched from my job where I had spent 12 years assisting in the office. After 6 months of applying for jobs, my motivation hit rock bottom and I was struggling to pay my mortgage. A  friend gave me a pamphlet on the Welfare onto Work workshop and I enrolled.   If it was not for this workshop I do not know where I would be today.  I was introduced to an employer by the foundation and was hired the next day they supported and advocated for me and most importantly kept my motivation up and grew my self-worth. I learnt so much about myself and they allowed me to investigate starting my own business they put me in touch with all the contacts that I needed and today with my part-time job and my little business I am motivated about my future and my mortgage is up to date. The team are like sisters to me and each one of them are willing to share their skills and knowledge with me as they genuinely want me to live the best life I can, they make you feel like anything is possible. I now live every day with one of their sayings “People need people, reach out to the community around you, share your knowledge and the ripple of all things possible will motivate and empower you and others, today and into the future”.
