Domestic silence can affect any one, at any age, at any time.

We have seen the effects of domestic silence from those who have participated in our programs, shared their stories with us online, or who have visited us in our OP Shop and Inspire Coffee and Treats Area.

We have seen the mental health issues, the debilitating injuries, and the horrific deaths, murders and suicides from those who experience or witness domestic abuse.

We have noticed the shame and blame survivors feel. And we have noticed the alarming silence that surrounds domestic abuse.

The silence from survivors who fear judgement and shame from speaking out. But also the silence from those who witness abuse and look or walk away. Motivated by this The Women of Worth Charity created #nomoredomesticsilence and this booklet with the hope to educate, empower and raise awareness for all forms of domestic abuse, as domestic abuse is more than violence.

As it can be hard to see the signs of domestic abuse, we want to educate so that we may prevent abuse from starting. Our charity wants to empower those currently being abused, with confidence, information and tools to help you leave. We want to raise awareness and stop the silence around domestic abuse.

By doing so The W.O.W Foundation hope to create an environment and community where survivors are safe, respected and listened to and where the shame and blame of any form of domestic abuse is solely on the perpetrator.

To do this we need you to support and not judge those effected, we need to not look away or walk away when we see these types of abuses, we need to use our voices, power and as a community end the shame and silence.

We all only know what we know, so judgement is not the key. We all need each other so please reach out and please help us in our mission by spreading
